10 years of Unified Messaging at Legal Firm
Commercial law firm Lewis Silkin has unified all communications to provide ‘one stop’, real time, IP enabled access to all emails and voice messages for their 260 mobile IT users.
Why did they do this?
- Out of a total of 300,000 emails and 5,000 voice messages received a month, a lot were going to the wrong people.
- Users could not access communications unless they were in the office.
- Admin time was taken up sorting this out, detracting from the real job – legal advice!
Now: Fee earners are able to be immediately notified and access/forward voice, fax and e-mail messages via Outlook from any location – via their Blackberry or any other web enabled device.
How they did this:
- Ten years ago CallXpress was integrated with Lewis Silkin’s Mitel® PBX, Novell’s GroupWise and Citrix.
- Because CallXpress is switch and system independent, Lewis Silkin were able to base all expansion to their Unified Communications on the CallXpress ‘foundations’.
- As the needs of users changed and technology developed, CallXpress was integrated with Exchange 2007 and is now fully IP enabled.
